SMS Opt-In — Client Consent Experience

This page is a faithful, public reproduction of the opt-in card presented to existing coaching clients inside their private CoachNotes portal. Every disclosure and piece of copy below matches what clients see in production.

For A2P 10DLC campaign reviewers

The live opt-in form is served from /portal/[token], a token-authenticated route accessible only to clients who have received a one-time magic link from their coach. The reproduction below is identical to the live version — same component copy, same disclosures, same CTA button text. It is rendered on this public URL solely to provide an auditable reference for campaign review.

CTIA Disclosures Present on the Opt-In Card

  • Sender / brand identified: coach's first name + "via CoachNotes"
  • Message content described: appointment reminders, intake prompts, coach check-ins, resource notifications
  • Message frequency disclosed: "Message frequency varies"
  • Rates disclaimer: "Message & data rates may apply"
  • Opt-out instruction: "Reply STOP to unsubscribe"
  • Help instruction: "HELP for help"
  • Privacy Policy link: /privacy
  • Terms of Service link: /terms
  • Active consent action: user must tap "Opt In to Text Updates" (checkbox/button) — no pre-checked boxes, no passive consent
  • Audit trail: opt-in timestamp and source persisted server-side against the client record

How the opt-in flow works

  1. 1Coach manually adds an existing client to their CoachNotes account. Clients never self-enroll from marketing — a prior coach–client relationship is a precondition.
  2. 2Coach sends a one-time portal invite SMS (e.g. "Your coaching portal is ready: …"). This single transactional message precedes opt-in.
  3. 3Client taps the unique magic link and lands on their private portal — token-authenticated, no password required.
  4. 4The opt-in card shown above is presented. The client must actively tap "Opt In to Text Updates" to consent.
  5. 5Opt-in timestamp and source are persisted to the database. No further SMS messages are sent to the client's number until this consent is captured.
  6. 6Client can reply STOP at any time to opt out; the opt-out is processed immediately and no further messages are sent.

Types of messages clients receive

  • Portal invite (one-time, sent before opt-in)
  • Intake form reminders and follow-ups
  • Coach-initiated check-ins and encouragement
  • Appointment reminders and session follow-ups
  • Resource and program delivery (email series step notifications)
  • Community group post notifications (opt-in, per-group)
